We are delighted to announce that the Babylonian Journal of Machine Learning (BJML) has been officially accepted for inclusion in Scopus following a rigorous, nine-and-a-half-month evaluation by the Scopus Content Selection & Advisory Board (CSAB). This achievement marks a significant step forward for Iraq’s scientific and academic community and reflects our ongoing commitment to excellence in machine learning, artificial intelligence, and data science research.
Looking ahead, BJML aims for a CiteScore of 11, positioning the journal among the leading titles in Iraq, the Middle East, and globally in AI and ML.
But this milestone is more than a single journal’s success. It advances a broader vision to increase Iraq’s academic balance within Scopus, elevate national research visibility, and compete with countries hosting many indexed journals. Iraq already has 40+ journals in Scopus, and we are committed to pushing that number higher—especially by supporting excellence in the humanities and interdisciplinary fields.
Our sincere appreciation goes to the dedicated editorial team, reviewers, authors, and partners whose contributions made this success possible.
