Peer Review Process

The Babylonian Journal of Artificial Intelligence (BJAI) upholds the highest standards in scholarly publishing by implementing a rigorous single-blind peer review process. To ensure transparency, efficiency, and the highest level of academic integrity, BJAI employs the ScholarOne Manuscripts system by Clarivate.

Submissions must present original research that has not been published or is under review elsewhere. The editorial board first assesses whether the submission aligns with the journal's focus and scope.

Using ScholarOne Clarivate, each manuscript undergoes a multi-stage review process:

  • Initial Screening: The editorial team checks for originality, relevance, and adherence to submission guidelines.
  • Reviewer Assignment: The system assigns at least two independent referees based on expertise.
  • Evaluation: Reviewers assess the manuscript's quality, significance, methodology, and contribution to AI research.
  • Revision Requests: If required, authors receive feedback for corrections and must resubmit within a given timeframe.
  • Final Decision: Based on reviewer feedback, the editorial board makes a decision: Accept, Revise, or Reject.

If a manuscript receives conflicting reviews, it is sent to a third referee for an additional evaluation. Authors who wish to withdraw their submission must submit a formal request via ScholarOne.

BJAI does not charge copyright fees to authors, ensuring open access to high-quality AI research.
