Peer Review Process Peer Review Process

The Babylonian Journal of Mechanical Engineering (BJME) employs a single-blind peer review process, where the reviewers’ identities remain anonymous to the authors. The journal uses the ScholarOne Manuscripts platform (Clarivate) to efficiently manage the peer review workflow. All submitted articles must present original contributions that have not been published or are not under consideration elsewhere.

Editorial Board Evaluation Editorial Board Evaluation

Before being sent to external reviewers, each submission is evaluated by the editorial board to ensure alignment with the journal’s mission and scope. Articles passing this initial screening are then assigned to at least two independent reviewers. The authors’ identities are known to the reviewers, while the reviewers’ identities remain anonymous to the authors.

Review Outcome Review Outcome

If a submission receives a negative recommendation from one reviewer, it will be evaluated by an additional reviewer. If two independent reviewers recommend rejection, the submission will not be accepted for publication in BJME. Authors will receive reviewer feedback and are expected to address all required revisions within the provided timeframe before a final publication decision is made.

Withdrawal of Paper Withdrawal of Paper

Authors wishing to withdraw their submission from BJME must complete and submit the official Withdrawal Form to the editorial board. Authors are also responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts comply with the journal’s formatting and style guidelines. Please note that BJME does not provide copyright fees or monetary compensation to authors for published articles.
