Abstract

Surah At-Tur in the Holy Quran serves as a crucial source for comprehending the divine concept of punishment and elucidating the consequences of disbelief and the expected suffering for deniers. This research focuses on analyzing the details within the verses of the Surah and the portrayal of intensified punishment for the disbelievers. It sheds light on pivotal events such as the Day of Judgment and the evident and tragic disturbances accompanying it. Furthermore, the Surah illustrates the grave consequences faced by those who reject the messengers, presenting verbal confrontations between them and the rejecters and their denial when faced with the truth. This research provides a comparative analysis of the opinions of scholars of Quranic exegesis, both classical and contemporary, to understand and interpret the complex dimensions of punishment in Surah At-Tur. Thus, this study offers a comprehensive understanding of the portrayal of divine punishment in the Surah, incorporating  an in-depth analysis that encompasses various exegetical schools and multiple perspectives
