Peer Review Process
The Mesopotamian Journal of Quran Studies (MJQS) employs a single-blind review process, where the reviewers' identities are kept anonymous from the authors. The journal accepts manuscripts in both Arabic and English and uses ScholarOne, provided by Clarivate, to efficiently manage the review process. To ensure quality and original content, all submitted papers must present novel contributions and should not have been previously published or considered by another academic journal.
Before sending papers for peer review, the editorial board will assess their alignment with the mission and scope of MJQS. Each submitted paper will be reviewed by at least two independent reviewers, where the authors' identities are known to the reviewers, while the reviewers' identities remain confidential to the authors.
If a paper receives negative feedback from one reviewer, it will be re-evaluated by a second reviewer. If the second review also results in negative feedback, the paper will not be accepted for publication in MJQS. Authors may receive feedback, corrections, or suggestions from reviewers, and are required to make the necessary revisions within a specified timeframe before a final decision on publication is made.
If authors wish to withdraw their paper from consideration for publication in MJQS, they must submit a form to the editorial board. Authors are responsible for adhering to MJQS's writing and style guidelines to ensure the overall quality of their papers. Please note that MJQS does not provide any copyright fees to authors for papers published in the journal.
