Peer Review Process
All submissions to the Babylonian Journal of Machine Learning (BJML) will undergo a single-blind peer review process, ensuring that the identity of the reviewers is concealed from the authors. BJML employs ScholarOne to efficiently manage this process.
To maintain the highest standards of publication, submitted papers must present novel contributions and must not have been previously published or under simultaneous consideration by other journals.
Before sending papers to referees, the editorial board evaluates if the submission aligns with the mission and scope of BJML. Each paper is reviewed by at least two independent referees. The reviewers' identities remain confidential, while authors’ identities are disclosed to the reviewers.
If a referee provides negative feedback, the paper is reassigned to another referee for evaluation. If the second referee also gives negative feedback, the paper will not be accepted for publication. Authors may receive feedback and suggestions from reviewers and must make the necessary revisions within the specified timeframe for further consideration.
Authors wishing to withdraw their paper must submit a formal written request to the editorial board. This request must include a valid reason for withdrawal.
Adhering to BJML’s ethical guidelines is essential during withdrawal requests to avoid delays in the editorial workflow. Detailed policies are available on our Publication Ethics page.
