Editorial Appointments and Recruitment
MJCS is committed to maintaining a qualified, independent, and ethically responsible editorial leadership. Editors are selected based on subject-matter expertise aligned with the journal scope, academic standing, editorial experience, and demonstrated commitment to publication ethics.
Prior to appointment, candidates’ credentials are reviewed, including verification of institutional affiliation and professional profile (e.g., ORCID where available), editorial and peer-review experience, and any relevant integrity considerations that may impact editorial responsibilities.
Editors (including the Editor-in-Chief, Associate Editors, Guest Editors, and Editorial Board members) are required to complete an Editor Declaration and disclose conflicts of interest (financial and non-financial), concurrent editorial roles, and any circumstances that could reasonably be perceived to affect editorial independence. Declarations must be updated whenever relevant circumstances change.
Editorial appointments are reviewed periodically. Editors are expected to uphold confidentiality, recuse themselves in cases of conflict of interest, and support the journal’s integrity procedures. Where credible concerns arise that may affect editorial integrity, MJCS may implement corrective actions consistent with best-practice guidance.
This policy applies to all editors. Newly appointed editors must complete the Editor Declaration prior to assuming duties. Current editors are required to complete (or reconfirm) the declaration within 2 weeks of the effective date and update it whenever circumstances change.
