Does the command imply immediacy
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study addresses an important issue in the field of Usul al-Fiqh (Principles of Islamic Jurisprudence) related to the implication of the Sharia command. Specifically, it explores the question, “Does the Sharia command imply immediacy or not?” The researcher highlights the importance of understanding religious obligations and how this understanding impacts the lives and behavior of Muslims. A descriptive and analytical methodology was employed to present and discuss the perspectives of Usul scholars on this matter, examining their arguments to reach a conclusive opinion. The study is divided into three main sections: an introduction to define the scope of the debate, a review of the differing opinions, and finally, an analysis to support one of these opinions while elucidating the implications of this debate on jurisprudential rulings. The study concludes that an absolute command does not necessarily imply immediacy and may allow for delay, depending on contextual indicators.
