This article discusses the role of comparative literature in the Arab world and the influence of French literary theory on it. The article emphasizes the importance of critical and scientific documentation in the application of the theory of influence and intertextuality in Arab literary studies. It also argues against blindly adopting foreign literary methodologies that do not reflect the cultural context and identity of the Arab world. The article calls for a balanced approach that takes into account both the historical context and principles of influence and intertextuality in literary studies, while focusing on the global dissemination and clarification of Arab literary and critical content.
