Peer Review Process Peer Review Process

The Mesopotamian Journal of Arabic Language Studies (MJALS) employs a single-blind review process, where the reviewers' identities are kept anonymous from the authors. The journal accepts manuscripts in both Arabic and English and uses ScholarOne, provided by Clarivate, to efficiently manage the review process. To ensure quality and original content, all submitted papers must present novel contributions and should not have been previously published or considered by another academic journal.

Editorial Board Evaluation Initial Evaluation by the Editorial Board

Before sending papers for peer review, the editorial board will assess their alignment with the mission and scope of MJALS. Each submitted paper will be reviewed by at least two independent reviewers, where the authors' identities are known to the reviewers, while the reviewers' identities remain confidential to the authors.

Review Outcome Review Outcome

If a paper receives negative feedback from one reviewer, it will be re-evaluated by a second reviewer. If the second review also results in negative feedback, the paper will not be accepted for publication in MJALS. Authors may receive feedback, corrections, or suggestions from reviewers, and are required to make the necessary revisions within a specified timeframe before a final decision on publication is made.

Withdrawal of Paper Withdrawal of Paper

If authors wish to withdraw their paper from consideration for publication in MJALS, they must submit a form to the editorial board. Authors are responsible for adhering to MJALS's writing and style guidelines to ensure the overall quality of their papers. Please note that MJALS does not provide any copyright fees to authors for papers published in the journal.
